Shai
Fultheim
CTO
BRM

When he
was a student at Machon Lev, Shai Fultheim was already
gaining experience managing the computer network of JCT.
His Final
Project was the creation of software which classifies
parcels on communications networks according to the user.
This information can then be used to optimize the network.
The Final Project was later sold to Logtel.
During the
course of his army service in the Intelligence Corps of the
IDF, Shai obtained tremendous experience in managing
computer networks, storage systems, and Internet security.
After
finishing his army service, Shai worked as a consultant to
companies, and he established a start up that developed a
platform for buying off-line on the Internet. He met with
representatives of BRM while raising funds for his own
start-up, so it was natural that when his company closed he
joined the experts at BRM.
BRM is one
of the largest Israeli venture capital firms that specialize
in investing in software and communicattion start-ups. Its
portfolio includes CheckPointy and BACKWEB, among others.
Its two branches - one in Israel and one in the US - manage
funds in excess of $350.000.000.00.
As the CTO
of BRM, Fultheim meets with representatives of many firms
who are developing new technologies in various areas. Among
his responsibilities, he is the technical liaison with the
high tech companies in which BRM invests.
Shai is
part of the team of advisors whose opinion regarding a
potential investment influences BRM's investmentr decisions.
Having invested in companies, Shai is involved in setting
development goals for the portfolio companies. In addition,
Shai is responsible for identifying technology areas worthy
of investment.
Based on
his training and experience, Shai recognizes that his
education at JCT's Machon Lev helped refine his
professional skills. "Dealing with serious technical
problems during my studies and developing the ability to
learn new subject independently trained me in the techniques
needed to evaluate new areas of technology."
Continue
Fultheim, "If I had to decide today where to get an academic
education in engineering that encompasses practical
experience, I would still choose the Jerusalem College of
Technology, which combines Torah learning with high
academic studies and offers a framework of support."
