The
Jerusalem College of Technology, (JCT), is a
leading institution in education, research and development
in the fields of technology including electronics, physics,
communications, computer sciences and a wide variety of
other fields. JCT education integrates advanced
studies in Torah, thereby synthesizing the profound roots of
religious context and tradition with the world of changing
technology.
Founded in 1969, JCT is one of the four accredited
engineering schools in the country and the only one in
Jerusalem. Home of a novel industrial incubator, JCT
also plays a significant role in Israel’s economic
infrastructure. Today
JCT is comprised of two schools for men – Machon
Lev (the men’s college of engineering) and Machon
Naveh (the evening college for men which is unique to
Israel) – and The Women’s School of Engineering,
which in turn is composed of Machon Tal in Jerusalem
and Machon Lustig in the Tel Aviv area.
JCT
prepares students for Israel’s science-based industries
while integrating ethical values for Israel’s society. The
requisite, double program of High-tech Science/Business
Management and Intensive Judaic studies grooms the women and
men to enter the industrial/business community as
credentialed professionals with a Bachelor’s Degree, well
trained in science and well versed in the Judaic
heritage. Preparing students through this harmonious
combination has earned the College an exclusive position
among engineering schools worldwide. To that end, we
concentrate our technology curriculum on the most advanced
majors utilized in Israel’s high-tech industries, i.e.
Computer Science, Electronics, Physics,
Electro-Optics, Applied Mathematics,
Managerial Accounting, Marketing for the High-tech
Industry, and Industrial Management.
Graduates are qualified for immediate licensing as
practicing engineers.
The demographic picture of Israel is a mosaic, resulting
from diverse immigrations as well as cultural differences
within the native population. JCT is committed
to harnessing the science potential of every student who
meets the School’s academic requirements and takes pride in
its guiding principle to accommodate cultures for the future
of careers. R & D, a critical component of JCT, has resulted
in major advances in many fields, e.g. electro-optics,
health care and safety. Our highly successful
industrial incubator makes it possible for aspiring
scientists to bring their high-tech projects to fruition.
Besides giving students valuable “hands-on” experience, the
products enrich the quality of life for Israelis and people
worldwide. An equally important focus is the
development of successful business ventures with an eye
toward economic independence. JCT has nurtured the
establishment of nearly 50 high-tech companies.
